Yes, I did too. It's quite a "curate's egg", this novel (judging from what little I've read of it): good in parts.

I've uploaded section 13: https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/caxtons_13_bulwer-lytton_128kb.mp3 (14:26)

Have uploaded section 14: https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/caxtons_14_bulwer-lytton_128kb.mp3 (14:32)

Some of the sentiments of The Captain, laid out here, would make a fine epigraph for any contemporary novel addressing the dilemmas of the post-truth epoch that we are currently enjoying/suffering (depending on one's point of view). This chapter could just about be a skit from Saturday Night Live. Great fun to read.

Hello, I'd like to claim track 31. Also, if I get the track, what am I supposed to say at the beginning? After saying that it's a Librivox recording, am I supposed to say "Chapter number 5 of part 7 of the Caxtons...", or do I need to say something else? Thanks for reading this.
No

Thanks! You're in for section 31.

The intro would be:

"Part [7], Chapter [5] of The Caxtons. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
If you wish, say: "Recording by [your name], [city]"
Say:
"The Caxtons: A Family Picture, by Edward Bulwer-Lytton. Part [7]. Chapter [5]"

Then at the end, "End of chapter 5."

Section 15:

It's PL OK, but in future, I think you can treat the chapter breaks differently. Drop the "End of" stuff and simply say "Chapter 8" after a slight pause. (We don't need the part number in here since we're deep in the middle of the file rather than starting a new file. The more detail needs to be at the start of files so those with sight impairment can know they're on the right file.)

We can leave this one as-is, or if you want to change it, you may. It's around the 8:00 mark.

Thanks for the update. That's fine; as long as I know you're still around and interested, I'll keep you in those sections. (This project is nowhere close to completion; I get more impatient as it gets closer to being done.) ;)
