Hi Michael,
I made the changes and re-did the test. Just waiting to see if anything else I should do.
Thank You,
Kelly Magee

Sure, I can claim section 19 now.Kazbek wrote: ↑January 25th, 2021, 6:30 pmSounds good. Would you like to claim it now? After I am done, I planned to take section 19, and that would be it for this project. My goal was to record a solo project, and this was my tryout, for the experience, the process, so I will move on to this after.

It looks like someone else (ashleighjane) has been working with you on your test, and they're asking for more information:
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=85141
Please respond to them in that thread and they will continue helping you with the test.
Thanks,
Michael

A couple of fixes are needed in this one:Murphy8104 wrote: ↑January 26th, 2021, 10:40 am Hi there -
I have uploaded Section 58 with the link below.
(0:20) "part 1" in the intro is misplaced; minor issue, but it's better to be consistent
(7:54) stumble/repeat ("and was in no way/wise mysterious")
(30:56) extraneous "that" after "Percy reported", missing "and" before "had just become" (it sounds like you may have tried to fix the syntax here; it's a bit convoluted, but it works)
Also, starting from about 23:00 there are occasional noises of the same kind as before on f's and s's. None of them are loud enough to ask for a fix. You're welcome to leave them as is, but I'm glad to spot PL any changes you'd like to make.
Thanks,
Michael

Section 58 - New and Improved has been uploaded.

Hi Michael -
I made the changes you noted, and also chased down those darn Fs and Ss. Have to admit the "pop" or swish is very hard for me to hear. This is frustrating as I'm sure I'm adjusting the arm of my mic as you recommended.
I dubbed in those I caught below, and would appreciate a Spot PL on these segments. Each are 1 second.
25:37
26:00
28:24
28:46
29:19
Thanks for the feedback.

The changes are almost all fine ("part 1" should go after the author's name, but this is close enough ). The only thing that still needs to be changed is that missing "and" in the last sentence. It's really needed there for the sentence to make sense (...reported to a lady who had once been a bride and had just become queen).
The pops in this last recording are subtle. I'm hearing them because I'm listening through headphones and probably also because I've accustomed myself to listen out for them as PL. I hope you consider this as a little running experiment to find the boundary between your usual problem-free set-up and the variation where these noises start to creep in, and not as a source of frustration. You could shift your mic a bit more to the side (mine is at the level of my ear), or get a pop filter, if you prefer.
Michael
Thank you! Will listen soon.

Hi Michael,Kazbek wrote: ↑January 24th, 2021, 9:14 pm Hi Hasnu,
This is much better! A few PL notes:
(0:17) Missing "II" in the chapter title. Please say: "Habsburg and Valois - Two"
(3:22) p. 67 stumble "in the co.. recovery"
(7:03) p. 68 extraneous sound "the Emperor was to z give"
(9:50) p. 69 missing sentence: "Charles returned ... attack Algiers"
(16:52) p. 71 I hear something like "asusides" instead of "besides"
(18:37) loud knock
(22:38) p. 74 I hear "on the end of the road" instead of "on the road"
(22:41) I hear "settle" instead of "settlement"
The silence at the start is a bit more than 1 second, and the silence at the end is a bit less than 4 seconds. This is "close enough", but barely. It's better to stay closer to our standard format of less than 1 second at the start and closer to 5 seconds at the end.
As I mentioned above, please use the standard filename when you upload the changed version.
Thanks,
Michael
I have gone through the recording again and fixed these issues! I hope that there are no more issues in this recording, and I will soon get to work on the next part. Here is the link: https://librivox.org/uploads/leni/cambridgemodernhistory2_09_128kb.mp3

Great editing! Congratulations on your first completed section. (And sorry about the mistake in the last two timestamps of my PL notes.)
