[BIBLE HISTORY] A Class-Book of Old Testament History by George Frederick Maclear-Leni
Thank you. I submitted a questions regarding this: (Ex. xv. 1–19. Comp. Ps. lxxvii. 16–19.) What are the "Comp" and "lxxvii"? Also if there isnt a quoted remark in here, its because I know nothing of computers and Im 35. It isnt funny, but feel free to laugh.silverquill wrote: ↑December 10th, 2020, 10:43 pmGood question. I won't be too picky about it but the easiest and preferred way is actually neither.
Just "Exodus twelve thirty-seven and thirty-eight." (use "to" instead of "and" if more than two verses) Just use your voice inflection with a slight pause between chapter numbers and verse number
This is the most common way for Biblical citations, and makes it less cumbersome.

Comp. I read as "Compare."thomhaire wrote: ↑December 11th, 2020, 9:45 am

The others are standard abbreviations for Bible books and Roman numerals.
So we have: "Exodus 15, 1 to 10. Compare Psalm 127, 16-19."
Ha! I'm soon to be 74, and was an early adopter of computers, but the pace of technological advancement has been much faster than I've been able to keep up with it.

Always feel free to ask questions!

We grant a two-month deadline for submitting your recordings.
Most of us try to get then done sooner, but you can take the time if needed. And, we know things happen, so you can also request an extension. It partly depends on the project. This one is long, so it will be many months before we have everything comleted.
We have a lot of Wiki guides to things here one LibriVox and also some great video tutorials. And, a global community of helpful people! So, you have a lot of resources to support you.
Enjoy!

Hey, I hate to drop out on you, but I'll need to resign my DPL position. Sorry!
As an aside, here's a list of Roman numerals in case anyone wants a refresher:
i = 1, v = 5, x = 10, l = 50, c = 100
I don't think any higher numerals are used in the book. (?)

Is there another chapter that might be of interest to you?
We've lost our DPL, so it may be awhile before we can get to this, but I'll do my best.

I hope this wasn't too much of a strain in you.
I'll try to PL until we can get another DPL on board.
Thank you!
