What software are you guys using to determine the dB of an audio file? Maybe I can get the same software or something like it.

Hi Henry,
This is the checker that will let you know your volume and other tech specs:
https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/

and here is MP3 Gain that will only tell you volume.
http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/

I hope his helps.

Thanks! I made some small fixes and got it in the right dB range now I think. Some fixes I made were:
1:34 chagrin
11:51 apoplexy
Some minor volume adjustments on redone parts for continuity of volume

I'm learning a lot of new words in this old story.

Edit: Time Length: 15:20
Nicely done and no reading errors, however the overall volume is too high at 94.8db. The desired range is 86 - 92db. Please reduce the volume by -3+db and upload a new file. Thanks.
If it isn't a lot of trouble could you tell me how to set it to the right dB? I don't know how to do it and I don't understand the tutorials I have watched. I'm using Audacity.
Jeez, this is embarrassing. I checked your audio again, and it's fine. That comment was intended for someone else. Chapter 5 now PL OK. I'm sorry I caused you to waste your time.

Thank you all. Henry, would you like to read more sections from this book?
Love gothic novels? Try Children Of The Abbey. Like surprising mysteries? Try The Amathist Cross. Looking for an easy read? Try Harriet's Choice.

Yes, I've read through to chapter 9 and, seeing as it's the next one open I will record it next.

It's a hell of a cliffhanger, but I won't mind some extra time to meditate on the mystery before reading ch 10.

Stav.
I only want to commit to one chapter at a time, so let's leave ch 10 open for now. I don't know how I'll feel about doing another chapter until after I finish one, and I don't want to prevent other people from doing one I reserved only for me to back out of it later due to fatigue or other obligations. In any case, I will happily keep ch 9 and start it today.

Are chapters 9 and 10 available, I see they still say open? If they are I can take those. Thanks.

Hi Vivian, thanks for chapter 8. 10 is not available but 9 is. How about you take 9 and 18?

Absolutely Stav......after reading through the above, can you confirm you want me to read chapter 9 and not 10? Thank you. Taking on 18 as well.
