Chapter 23 PL notes:

Your recording is louder than it should be at 97.5 decibels. Your have many overly loud peaks that are cut off. Please do these things and then export it again:
1. Run Compressor to bring down those peaks and make it more even
2. Amplify by a negative -5 dB.
3. export as an MP3 with the same file name and upload again. Post the link in this thread.

Check out your recording with Checker. If you don't have that, it's ok, it should be fine with those two steps. If you are using Audacity, you can judge your volume by just looking at the track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9WF82rf81o
this is how I most always judge my volume before exporting it.

Chapter 18 PL notes. I cannot hear this file, it is almost silent and amplifying by 60 barely made it audible. Please check your file and be sure it is of proper volume, then export again with the same file name and post in this thread. Thanks. .

Chapter 10 PL notes.
Hi sahildalal123, I listened to your file for section 10 and really like your voice. But you should know that when uploading files they should be in a completely finished format, no errors or repeats or bumps as far as possible. Unfortunately, while your reading itself is fine, you left a lot of things that need to be fixed before uploading. So, please don't get discouraged, we all went through this learning process of editing and it takes time.

PLease open your file (the one you uploaded) and listen to it, then fix these problems. When you have it finished, export it as an MP3 using the exact same file name as before:
at 1:15 repeat "whole"
at 1:27 stumble on scarcely
1:50 set/ setting stumble
2:20 repeat "we should"
4:04 repeat "shopping"
then clear sailing until
10:03 repeat "apologized"
10:36 repeat "far distant"
10:46 stumble: "they would be" - then "they would quite do"
10:54 repeat "all of"

If you are using Audacity, here is a little video showing how to remove bits and replacing them
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLdJsoGQc9c
and a video on basic editing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9NuSuWYaWg&feature=youtu.be

Can you do that for us? We really really want your voice on a lot of recordings so hang in there and ask if anything is confusing.

Of course we can do that. Would October 31 be enough time? We move at a sedate and leisurely pace here in LibriVox. The last thing we want to do is not give everyone a chance to do their recording. If that is not sufficient time just let me know how much more time you would like. Enjoy your move. :D

Sahildalal; Thank you for editing this file and taking out a lot of the repeats and other things that should not be in there. You are making progress. However there are still too many things like that still in there and I will ask you to edit it again. Listen slowly to your track from the start to the finish and when you hear a bump or a repeat or stumble, stop and take the time to remove it. Then listen to that part again to be sure it is smoothly fit together. This track as you have here is not ready to be published. If you listen slowly you will hear where you repeat things but you must take the time to do it slowly, don't rush. Editing is the most difficult part of recording and takes by far much more time than recording. Watch the videos I mentioned earlier and give it one more try, OK? If you run into any problems let me know and I will gladly make a little video showing how I would edit a part of your recording.
