COMPLETE: Two Years in Oregon by Wallis Nash -jo
Here is my very first recording - section 26.
It now goes to a listener? I guess I'll be able to follow it's progress in this forum.

I will try to have a PL report for you soon.
ETA: Decided to take some time tonight to listen, and I'm happy to give this a PL OK!
I think you did a fine job on both of these chapters, and I appreciate you contribution.
Thank you!

Yes, usually a project will have a DPL, but our volunteer had to drop out, so I'm doing double duty here.Jonatoner wrote: ↑January 26th, 2021, 2:07 pmHere is my very first recording - section 26.

In general, the is a good recording, with a few minor glitches here and there, but only one that I would ask you to correct.
At 18:57 there is a stumble over the numbers that is a bit confusing. I think it will be simple to cut out.
Another general comment, other than the plosives, is you tendency to pause in the reading and then get in a lip smack. One example, close to the correction above is at 19:01 I have this very same habit so I work on it. But, in editing, you can cut out some of these long pauses and the mouth noises that are there. I'm not suggestion that you need to do that with this recording, but something to keep in mind as you go further with your recording, which I certainly hope you do.
The only other thing that needs attention are the silences, both of which are too long. At the beginning, it should be no longer than one second. We like between .5-1.0 There is a little lip smack there, so you can cut it out and you'll be good. At the end, we like to see about five seconds, so you can trim off a few seconds at the close.
Just upload your corrected recording under the same file name and post the link and new file length here again so I can check it.
All in all, you are off to a really good start! It does get easier.
I hope to hear a lot more of you here on LibriVox.

Hi Larry
So many lip smacks to remove! After awhile they were easy to spot in Audacity. I did correct the slight stutter at 18:53 and removed excessive lead in and outs. Here's the corrected version

Hi Larry
I fear I did not upload the corrections to section 26 correctly. The revised mp3 was added to an existing post not a new post. Not sure if that was correct or do I need to create a new post with the corrected mp3?
Thanks

Until I read this post, I didn't realize that the DPL had had to drop out. I know this is almost done, but if you want me to finish DPLing the last few, I sure could do that. But, of course, you are kind of on a roll. The offer is there if you want to avail yourself of it.
