Linny, I've found so far in Section 29 one paragraph that has been clipped at the end. The last sentence simply stops and therefore makes no sense. If you look at the ebook, it's the paragraph on pg 241 - 242 and ends with "with whom he had been in company, to"

I've found a more complete text online, and I'll use that to complete this paragraph, and others if I find them.

Wonderful! Thank you, Mark. That text is also PD so there isn't any problem using it.

I'd like to do section 29 next.

Mark,

Well, I have 'good news' and 'bad news'. We will start with the 'good news'. Your reading was very well done. There was one very small correction. At the beginning of the recording you need to leave .5-1 second of silence, you didn't quite have half a second. Quick and easy fix.

Now, the 'bad news'. It was the wrong 'letter'. As DPL, I know more than anyone how hard it is to find the correct reading by the descriptions in the MW because there really isn't any description in the book to help us tell them apart. The one you read so well is Section 24. As you can see in the MW, there is a 'word count' for each reading, and for Section 24 it is just short of 3400 words, and that is the one you read. The redeeming factor is that no one has claimed Section 24. As DPL I don't have the kind of 'clearance' to change readers names in the MW. I will PM Linny and let her know what has happened. I know you have asked for Section 29, but would you still want to read Section 23? Just let us know what your decision is here in the Forum.

So, just go head and correct the time at the beginning, and also the file name and we will see exactly how Linny wants to handle it.

Great reading, keep up the good work,

Wayne

Hi there,

Well read. This one seems to be particularly hard. There are a few things that we can look at:

6:44 not by passion and rude clamour, you said crude

7:49.5 left out &c.

10:42 that no body hath a right to take their substance or any part of it from them without their consent. This may seem like a small point, but you said nobody, and the text reads no body. In this context, the word 'body' means any legislative body, such as Parliament. So I think it should be corrected.

Thanks for your work,

Wayne

Wayne and Linny:
Sorry 'bout that. When I looked through the text of what is actually Sec 23, I saw a couple ellipses that made the sentences confusing and incomplete, and I thought this was merely notes of what comes in the next section. I noticed that the next section (24) was exactly the same, more or less, so figured that was the one to be read. I did see the word counts, but honestly, it's not helpful to me when trying to determine the length of a text. I can't tell what 2500 words vs 3000 is supposed to look like.

Anyway, Section 24 is now edited with the lead time at the beginning, and I edited the intro and outro to announce the correct section number.

Mark,

Thanks for all your hard work. Section 24 is now PLOK

As to your comment about word count, this is something I came up with that works for me. Often there isn't a word count for a section in the MW. I often want to know the word count so I can see how long it is so I can schedule time for it. What I do is just 'select' the chapter, copy it and then paste it into a Word (or equivalent) document and at the bottom will be the word (as well as character) count. You might like to try it. That is how I figured out what had happened with your reading.

Keep it up,

Wayne

Wayne, I just found that the Sec 24 "listen" link in the MW points to the recording for Sec 29.

Cheers,
