I had some extra time this weekend, so I went ahead and recorded. I hope that's okay.

Section 13: (I wasn't totally sure how to record the intro bit with the quote before the official start of the chapter. Let me know if you'd like me to change it and I gladly will.)

Section 14:

I would also like to take sections 15 and 16 if possible.

Here is Part 2, Chapter 4:

https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/thewrongofslavery_16_owen_128kb.mp3 17:47

Part 2 Chapter 3 (section 15) is incredibly long. Would it be possible for it to be split into two sections?

Section 13 needs a few fixes:

At :30, you have Part 2, Chapter 1, and then the chapter title. Then at :38 it says Part 2 and gives the quote (should mention the individual quoted here too), and then at :47, it mentions Chapter 1 and the chapter title again. I would suggest getting rid of the first mention at :30.

At 2:13, part of the sentence is missing. "In proportion as civilization advanced" is missing at the beginning of the sentence.

All else was good.

Section 14 is PL OK

Thanks,

M

Laurence
I am putting both sections 4 and 8 here for the PL comments.

Section 4

Need between .5 and 1 second at the beginning.
At 1:33, A syllable is missing from cardinal
At, 5:09, the chapter ends, everything after that until ~39:00 is from a different chapter and should be removed.

Section 8
Need between .5 and 1 second at the beginning.
At 7:12, "we may put it in 1860" is repeated.
At 13:26, you have "sir", should be "senhor"

All else is good.

Thanks,
M

18 minutes is fairly reasonable for an audio file, I think. What might be more of an issue is that we already have chapters and parts from the original author, so if you had section 1 of part 2 of chapter 3 and section 2 of part 2 of chapter 3, I think that would be more of something to avoid. Let's see if anybody else has some thoughts on this.

Yes, 18 minutes is a good length, but as I understand it, the problem is not section 16 (which is only 18 minutes), but section 15. Section 15 (part 2, chapter 3) is 36 pages. At the rate of one and a half minute per page, that comes out to just under an hour. Our limit is 72 minutes, so this would still be fine. It's by far the longest chapter in the book, so it's the only one that might present a problem. If you do decide to split it, I'll need to rename the file that has been submitted for section 16 because it will throw off the numbering sequence. So if you go that route, it's best to do so now, before other files are submitted for later chapters that will also need to be renumbered.

Also, progressingamerica, I just noticed that you have not been entering run times in the notes section of the MW. Please go through and add these. It's important to have them when it comes time to catalogue the project.

Thanks for the clarification about the audio length and correction about the section number.

Also, I will update the MW to have run times soon.
