Yeah, the quality on this one is pretty bad. I can't understand some of what you're saying.Lector1 wrote: ↑June 28th, 2020, 10:19 am Here is section 8. My recording's quality is probably not as high as my last one, and I am truly sorry. My equipment is awful. It's mostly my headset's fault and I've got a new one on the way right now.

I'd suggest waiting for the new mic, then using that to record this section. Is that OK with you?

Yeah, that will be fine. It might be a few weeks, though. I'm not sure when it'll be here.TriciaG wrote: ↑June 29th, 2020, 7:38 amYeah, the quality on this one is pretty bad. We can be patient, as long as it isn't several months.

You're in for 20!
Here's your catalog page: https://librivox.org/reader/14585
You can get to it by clicking your name in the Magic Window wherever you have claimed sections.
If you click on "Reader section details" you'll see a list of sections you're assigned, and what stage they're at in the process.

I have a quick question. In one part of the appendix there is the text
For the long line, is that supposed to indicate a repeat of the word shoot, or an expletive that I just pause for? Then ‘Cap’ Hatfield yelled, ‘Shoot her, ----- her, and let’s go on’

I assume it stands for "damn", but I don't like to include words the author didn't include.
A pause will sound like a mistake. Are you okay with saying "blank her"?

Sure thing. Blank is the closest thing other than dash her which most likely was not the authors intent.
