I will step back from section 17.

I am taking too long (don't want to hold up this project) and the sound profile is going to change with a slightly different setup.

You still had a good two weeks or so left before hitting the 2-month mark, and even then, I'm usually willing to grant extensions. However, there's nothing wrong in relinquishing a section, so I've removed you. Let me know if you get your setup resolved and want to try again, either with the same section or a different one. Good luck!

Sure, I'm happy to sign you up! And welcome to LibriVox! I should warn you that you've chosen a challenging text for your first recording, but I applaud you for being willing to dive in!

I see that you've already posted your one-minute test, and that you have some feedback on it, too. (There are a few issues to correct.) Please be sure to address those issues and get your test approved before you start recording for this project.

I'll also need to know what name you'd like to use for our catalogue. It can be your real name, screen name, or any pseudonym you like.

Thank you Mark, and welcome to LibriVox! I'll repeat to you what I've said to the reader who claimed just before you. You have chosen a challenging project as your first experience in narrating for LibriVox. I applaud your being willing to tackle it!

Before you begin, though, please complete your one minute test. This is not an audition, but more like a sound check. We need to know, before you put all the hard work into recording this section, that it will be a usable recording!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Section 18 (Psalm 19)

20:04 --- obvious Sound change possibly due to audio splice /patch.... please just check and use your own judgement if it needs to be redone... "For we
are His Work created in Christ Jesus in good works"

otherwise great job! this was a really long one but you did an excellent reading.

Thank you! I made a mistake in wording and went back to fix it later. That's why there's a bit of a difference there.

After listening to it a few times, I'm not certain it would be worth trying to change it again and match the flow any better. I'm okay with leaving it as it is if you are.

I'm so excited!!! I'm planning to re-do my one-minute test this evening when it is there is less noise at my house. I did a practice read-through of the text today and I have a question. In my selection (pages 118-209), almost every paragraph has a number at the beginning. For example, the second paragraph on p.188 starts with "2. Ver. 2" Should I read this on the recording as well, saying "Two, verse two."? Likewise, if there are words in parenthesis (ex. "(ver.6)", saying "Verse 6"), should I read them as well? Since there are so many of these, I just wanted to be sure before I make an actual recording. Thank you for your help!!

Welcome to LibriVox! Personally, I do not read the paragraph numbers, but I do read the verse numbers for that Psalm (not verses for the various other passages mentioned in the text.) Best wishes!
Peace be with you,
Sister
