I would like section 1. It's my first time and I'd like my name to be Kayla Lane.

hi kayla,

section 1 is reserved to you - but please, first make a 1 minute test.
our 1 minute tests are for getting the settings right (we need some certain settings to be able to pulish them on archive) and it is perfect for learning about our uploading process.
further information, with links, video tutorials and everything is in our wiki:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test

as i said, i will assign the section to you!
for your catalogue page, do you have a webpage, a blog or something similar? we can show a link on your profile!

thank you and cheers.
cheers

Here is section 52, the role of "I" for the dialogue that will finally result in section 16. (Hence the way I named it.) Length 17:32

https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/essaysonart_i_16.mp3

Very interesting and well written essay!

Thanks, Todd

schrm,

Sorry, I'm not sure how to respond directly to you, but thank you for accepting my test. I'm happy to keep homunculusontheloose as the name for my reader page, and I don't have a website or blog or anything like that.

Best,

i entered your forum name for your catalogue page and... your reader page is here: https://librivox.org/reader/14087
(i use mine regularly, it offers a sort of overview... like a todo list!)

so, then i assigned the seciton to you officially, deleted the reader name in the mw table under notes, ...

i'm sure i forgot something, but at the moment..

i'm looking forward to your recording!

Section 52 is PL OK.

Section 42 PL notes:

You have a lovely reading voice! There is a repeat at 6:48 ("and these two noble fruits grow . . . grow far asunder") that needs to be removed, and there are 2 seconds of silence instead of 5 at the end of the recording. Also, there is a technical issue with your file; the volume is too high at 93.1 dB. We aim for about 89 dB, with an acceptable range of 87-91 dB. Your file will need to be de-amplified by -4. In Audacity, select the whole recording. Click Effect > Amplify. In the Amplification box, enter the number -4. Verify that the file is around 89 dB using Checker (a program that checks technical specifications against LibriVox standards - quick to download and easy to use - https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker).

Once you have made the aforementioned edits, re-upload using the same file name. Post in this thread when you have uploaded the edited file. Make sure you include the new duration of the file. Thanks so much!

a big thx for your pl, cadastra!

homunculusontheloose, do you know how to meter the average volume of your file?
it was one of the problems of your 1 minute test and it seems to be: you should keep an eye on that..

once again: thank you to both of you!

greetings from tyrol,
cheers.
