COMPLETE [HISTORY]Cambridge Medieval History, Volume 1-Leni
I'm pondering signing up for sections 40-43 (Asiatic background) ...two questions -- any suggestions for how to read the chart on page 333? And are we reading footnotes if they are information rather than just citations?
Thanks!
Colleen

Just wanted to see if I could get an extension on chapter 2: I've been working on recording but we've also been moving, so things have taken a little longer than anticipated. Should have the remaining sections done in a few weeks!
I did it!
Here my section 32.

Do. Or do not. There is no try.
Of course. Thank you for letting us know!louishehman wrote: ↑October 3rd, 2020, 8:10 pm Just wanted to see if I could get an extension on chapter 2: I've been working on recording but we've also been moving, so things have taken a little longer than anticipated. I don't see any conceivable way of 'reading' the chart on p. 333. At least not a reading that could be understood. I would eliminate it and the sentence above it that introduces the language groups.
As to footnotes, I would eliminate them, too, unless you feel that a specific footnote adds real clarity to the reading.
Hope you sign up!

I've got it, Emanuela. It's too late to proof it tonight where I live, but I'll get to it in the morning.Eysiss wrote: ↑October 4th, 2020, 8:50 am I did it!

That must be my mistake. But, heck, all your recordings are perfect anyway!Kazbek wrote: ↑October 4th, 2020, 4:09 pm Section 69:

Section 32 is PL OK. Lovely first step into recording, Emanuela.

I must have confused you with someone else, perhaps on another project, who said the file they were working on was their first. It was very enjoyable, and I think you and the other volunteers whose first language isn't English are very brave to read material like this in English. I've volunteered to do a couple of short texts in French, my second language, but never a long chapter like this.
