The words are fine, but there are some thing to be done. First, the opening of all recordings require between .5 and one second of silence. The close requires 5 seconds of silence.

Your volumes are a bit odd, but it's nothing that can't be fixed. The first 3 minutes or so are louder than the rest and should be brought up at least 3dB (maybe even 4.) The balance is quite low in volume and should be brought up at least 6dB. That should do the trick, but I'll check back again once you re-post. There is a little bit of background noise, too, but it's not too distracting. I wouldn't worry about it unless you know how to use the noise reduction effect. (I can help you with this if you'd like.)

A nice reading!
Hi, I just adjusted the volume on the clip, here is the newly uploaded one:

I'm afraid the volume must still be raised by some 6dB.

Do you have the Checker program yet? I'll provide a link in just a minute. It helps us with much of the technical matters.

A very nice reading. PL OK!

Just three things to correct. Please add 5 seconds of silence at the conclusion of all your recordings. Also, your volume is quite low. Please increase the volume by 12dB. Finally, your link to the recording has a typographical error; you've mistyped 'religion.'
Thank you. I have re-uploaded it with the changes.

PL OK! A great reading!

While Checker gives this recording the 'go ahead' (and I do too) I think it could use another noise reduction. Entirely up to you. It may be that you don't like what can sometimes happen to the sound when too harsh a cleaning is done.

Ok, say more about this, please. What is it you are hearing/not hearing that's bothersome? My initial recordings always come in low db, so, in order to pass the Checker, I have to increase the amplification - could that be contributing to what you're experiencing as a need for noise reduction? (I've never used the noise reduction feature on Audacity, only amplify.) Thanks!!

If you listen to the first one second and watch the meter up above, you'll see the meter bounce to the right.

You can do the same for the last 5 seconds where you likely used the generate silence effect. The meter doesn't move at all.

It may be that using the silence effect at the closing 5 seconds adjusts Checker downward, but that's only something I've heard. I don't know if that's true.

But you can use that first one second as a sample in the noise reduction effect and then, for the second step, select the whole recording and press 'Go,' or whatever the lower button says. (Hahah! I don't remember as it's so common for me.)

If you wanted, I bet you could find one of Phil's videos that explains noise reduction. (In fact, that's the main topic of our next unofficial LV Zoom sessions.)

If you would like, I can find an appropriate link for you.

Again, though, your recording is fine. And dandy.
