I'm no sociologist or economist, but I do think there's a big difference between the prospects of Af-Ams now vs. that of the 1960s. Time has changed culture, which is changing the economics.

I'm no sociologist or economist either. It seems the politicians want to say we are frozen in time or that more time in a mode of thinking is necessary.

This is stuff that should be taught during Black History Month (if not all year round, of course).

History was always my favorite subject in school, and still is today. Figuring out how to move forward from where we are is hard to do if we don't know how we got here. The more detailed the history, the better, but even a brief summary can help serve as a reminder.
