Hi Wolfi and friends here of this project,

I love your project and would love to be the DPL from here. I am a new volunteer and have served as a DPL only once but I am learning from all the awesome volunteers at LibriVox!

Regards,
Jessie

Since you already have access to the MW because you're the BC, I'm going to take you out as DPL. That way the spot shows as open. People might get confused and think there's a DPL because your name is in that spot. ;)
 didn't think of that, thank you once again!

heyho,

a rather bitter section, containing all of the aspects of this book..
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/laydownarms_25_suttner_128kb.mp3
Track Length
11:31,70 (m:ss.ss)

since my mothertongue is german, i didn't try to mimick english pronunciation of names - in case this is irritating to listen to, or i mispronounced a word so grossly, that english listeners won't understand me (i have failed the rhythm, melody and pronunciation before :-)), i humbly ask for cc!

thx a lot!

greetings from tyrol,
cheers

in latter case: thank you :-)
but please, leave a hint for me in the forum.

thank you for the fast work,

heyho everyone,

this project was selected to be part of "MARCH to the FINISH LINE - 2021 Cleanup Month".

despite we are rather far from finishing, at least to my humble opinion, we have to follow more strict rules.
eg:

"To be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, all unrecorded sections that were claimed more than 2 months ago will be orphaned on March 7th unless the claimants post in this thread before then to reclaim the section."
for further informations, please look up viewtopic.php?f=2&t=85943

thank you for your understanding!

also: please, jessie, contact me per pm or forum.

cheers,
wolfi

thank you so much :-)
i hope, we still have our new dpl here...

so just 4 remarks by me, without any listening to your section:
to my experience, with clicks and so on, it is better and sufficient to amplify with minus 30-40 db, because then a cut won't have any tech thingie noises, or pauses which are too short. you can avoid these "disturbance" noises also, when marking the part to cut and press the button z - this will make the cut go through "zero points" on tha waveline and there won't be any artefacts left, hopefully.
when i have to cut eg a repeated, misread part, i sometimes try to cut in the middle of a sentence, or even within a word (examples: old /sen/tence new).
but i have to say, i became a sort of a feak with editing my own sections...
and i don't recommend that at all! it is horror to edit for hours to get some results no one would realize anyways!
--> at least, that is the rule of thumb for that: most listeners won't hear 80% of our edits, anyways.

i will enter the data asap!
thx again :-)
cheers,
wolfi
