Epics and Romances of the Middle Ages by Wilhelm Wägner (1800 - 1886).

This volume contains the principal hero-lays of the six great epic cycles of the Teutonic Middle Ages: The Langobardian Legends, the Amelung and Kindred Legends; Dietrich of Bern's Adventures; the Nibelung Legends; the Hegeling Legends; and Beowulf. To them, the author has added the great mythical Carolingian cycle, which centred round the persons of Charlemagne and his heroes, and the Breton ones of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, as well as the legend of the Holy Grail. Therefore, this one book tells all of the great epic and romances of the Middle Ages in accessible language for the general public. (Summary by Leni)

1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.

3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen.Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.

   Channels: 1 (Mono)
   Bit Rate: 128 kbps
   Sample Rate: 44.1 kHz
7. DURING recording:
   No more than 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning of the recording!
   Make sure you add this to the beginning of your recording:
   START of recording (Intro)

8. AFTER recording
   Need noise-cleaning?
   Listen to your file through headphones. If you can hear some constant background noise (hiss/buzz), you may want to clean it up a bit. The latest version of Audacity is recommended for noise-cleaning. See this LibriVox wiki page for a complete guide.

   epicsandromances_##_wagner_128kb.mp3 (all lower-case) where ## is the section number (e.g. epicsandromances_01_wagner_128kb.mp3)

Greetings:
I have recorded Sections 30 & 31 and am preparing to edit, but I wanted to make sure of something.
(and I hope I can put this clearly)
At the end of each recording, we are asked to say Section #, Part# and Chapter#.
Section 30 & 31 fall under the chapter heading "Beowulf" which is the 4th chapter in Part 2 (although it isn't numbered as such).
This chapter is then divided into 5 parts.
So at the end should I say Section 30 (31), Part 2, Chapter 4, Part 1 (2)?
Or just Section 30 (31), Part 2, Chapter 4 ?

Hope this isn't confusing things - or perhaps it's just me that's confused.

Thanks for asking, Stephen. Actually, for the end, it is enough to say "End of Section", the section being what is in the window. So, in your case, "End of section 30" and "End of Section 31". The Part, and chapter are said in the beginning already.

I forgot to change from the template, so the first post said "Chapter" only which would be confusing, I agree. So, I just fixed to just "Section". Hope this made sense.

Thanks, that clears up the end part for me. Is it still okay that I have said "Part 2, Chapter 4" at the beginning, even thought the Beowulf section isn't designated that way in the book?
