Oh, wonderful.
It all sounds good. I've left my comments there. Just be sure to leave the full five seconds of silence at the end of your recording.
I'm so pleased to have you making your LibriVox debut here. Our proof listener will be in for a real treat. Such good reading.

I've assigned you Section 20. Just click on your name in the Magic Window to view your personal catalog page. This is where you can track all of your LV work -- and I hope there will be much!

WELCOME TO LIBRIVOX

Thanks so much for the support. Question - where can I find the “magic window”?

Okay!

Just two issues to take care of.

1) As I mentioned in my comments on your test recording, we need 1 second or less of silence at the beginning, and about 5 seconds at the end of the recording. Both of these are too long. Should be easy to trim them.

2). This wasn't an issue before, but the volume of this recording is much too low, coming in at anly 84.3 dB. So, you need to amplify this by abour 4-4 dB.

Make these corrections and upload it again under the same file name, and post the link and new length here.

Other than that, this is a fine first recording!

Hi Larry-
Below is a picture of the end of my recording. Unless I am reading the time signature wrong it looks like I have 5 seconds of silence at the end.. Am I looking at the wrong thing?

Also same with the beginning.. Should I move the waveform closer to the 1 mark?

Thanks.

While I do appreciate your enthusiasm, there are certain procedures that we ask everyone to follow, and the first is to do our official 1-minute preliminary recording. There are a lot of good reasons for this and it is intentionally designed to identify potential problems so they don't have to be dealt with on a longer recording by a book coordinator. If you need more info, please see the main article https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test

We also don't accept recordings until they have been officially assigned to a reader. This is to keep everything orderly and avoid confusion for everyone.
So, please post back here when you have the official "OK" and tell me what name you want to be listed by, and then I can assign you section.

Thanks for your interest.

Hmmm. Very interesting.
I've looked at those images, and the ending that you sent has a silence from 2:08 to 2:13
The one I downloaded ends at 2:12 :hmm:

We have a little more wiggle room at the end so that's probably okay, but it is puzzling.
So, don't worry about it for now.
