Hey Folks!

Working on section 14, and I'm running into a few names of which I am only 70% positive I have the correct pronounciations. Any recommendations for cites to get names and words pronounced? I'm familiar with just searching google, but was curious if there's a good singular website to use for this.

I wouldn't worry too much about the pronunciations. Just do the best you can. For place names, there are often variations.

Tony,
I'm sorry for the delay in PLing for you. Somehow I missed your section coming in.

I really enjoyed your voice energy on this recording. Please let me know if you have questions about my notes.

Volume is too low at 79.8dB. Please amplify by 9dB.

Opening silence should be trimmed to between 0.5 and 1.0 second. Currently ~4 seconds.

Intro should be: This is (please delete) "Section 14 of Red Rubber: The Story of the Rubber Slave Trade on the Congo. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
If you wish, say: "Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
Missing "Red Rubber: The Story of the Rubber Slave Trade on the Congo, by Edmund Dene Morel.Section 14, Is There a Redeeming Feature?: Justice and the Friendly Critic: Part 2. "

1:59 - missing ‘pounds’ - …and the net profits of the concern in six years have amounted to 730,000 pounds on a paid-up capital of under 10,000 pounds, each share of a nominal value of 20 pounds (of which the Congo Government possess 1,000) having received in that period dividends totaling 295 pounds.

4:11 - missing word – and secured in three years 40,000 pounds worth of india-rubber.

4:33 - missing word - …he was let out on bail of 200 pounds.

5:27 - missing text –The Minister responsible to the Department of Justice made no sign, however. What would have transpired at a public trial? Tilken’s defence would have…

6:19 - 2 second pause for a paragraph break. This sounds long to me. Was that your intent?

14:34 - word change – …is indeed narrowed down to a few, a very few, observers who have journeyed through or sojourned in parts of the Congo State…

Thanks, Linny!

I'll be happy to get those fixes in there. The copy I found apparently was missing text, wasn't sure how to get it fixed so sometimes I ran with words missing and other times I had to guess what the error in the copy was supposed to be. I'll get a revised copy soon
