Welcome to Librivox! I'm happy to hold those two chapters for you, but before you record them for me, please do a 1 minute test, as described in your welcome email and in the Introductory forums, or in the Wiki at the top of the page. Most people need to do at least some tweaking to their settings, even if you have recorded before. Once your test is given the "OK" then come back here and record!

Hi Chad, thanks for submitting this file - have you done something to it? There's a very strange distortion effect which I haven't noticed on your other files? Is this a noise cleaning artefact? It makes the file very difficult to listen to - do you still have the original audio? I think that would be better - a bit of extra noise is preferable to an over processed file.

Hello,
Thanks for getting back to me about this.
I have re-recorded this Chapter, amplified it, but did not use noise reduction.
Below is my re-recording of Chapter 1:

I look forward to hearing back from you.
Kind regards,
Chad

I can take 18 and 19 if they are open, thanks! Also, how do you want us to address substantive footnotes (ignore or include in the reading)?

Thanks Ryan! Footnotes are a reader judgement call. I don’t usually include them unless they are very relevant and interesting. If you want to include one just say “Footnote” read the text then say “End Footnote”.
