Hi, Jane--Excellent job on both of these lengthy sections! Just one small fix for you:

Section 16:
At ~30:03 Repeat “The use of curves—The curves were probably not computed mathematically…” (p. 270 in the text). I think that you can probably just snip out the repeat.

Section 17: PL OK

Upload the edited file and post the link here again along with the new track length. I'll take one final look at it. And thank you for your patience with the PL'ing process. I do hope to hear more from you on this project! :)
Hi, thanks for the nice feedback. Now I can finally cross these off my list
Re. what you are referring to as a repeat, while it might sound like it, the first is actually a text heading (these I have read through the chapters). And the next is the beginning of the sentence under that heading. If it isn't there, then it makes it sound as though the curves stuff is all part of the preceding section. Does this make a difference to your PL comment?

Hi Jane, as the BC I’ve reviewed the point under discussion - are you using the text source linked in the first post? If so, there is no heading at that point: I think the text is from the start of the next sentence and has probably been left in by mistake. I’d like it removed please so we are aligned with the text as written.

If you are using a different text (which may have different headings) this is a different issue, so please let me know if this is the case and I’ll review the other text.

You are both entirely correct and I am entirely wrong. My apologies for that - don't know how I managed that blooper.

Hi again, Mike--I listened to your other sections--well done! I have a few notes for you--

Section 05:
--At ~1:14 Omitted text in red “…was one of hunting, grazing, and incipient agriculture.” (p. 69 of the text)

Section 06:
--At ~29:13 For the topic heading--I hear “A self-imposed, social despotism” but the text shows “A self-imposed, socialistic despotism” (p. 90 of the text)
--At ~35:49 I hear “…because of their independence” but the text shows “…because of their interdependence” (p. 92 of the text)
--At ~59:55 I hear “…from the region of Pheidon” but the text shows “…from the reign of Pheidon” (p. 99 of the text)

And just FYI, Section 06 comes in 86.1 dB. It does pass, but just barely on the lower edge. So you might amplify your file to get it a bit closer to our goal of 89 dB since you will be uploading again anyway. At any rate, don't go any quieter. Let us know if you have any questions--and thank you again! :)
Kind regards,
Lucretia

It is 40 minutes and 54 seconds long.
Hi MorganScorpion--As usual, your reading was great, so I have no notes on the reading of the text itself. But there is (maybe?) an editing error and a few quick-fix technical things that need to be corrected.

Section 11:
--At ~18:29 We have the sentence “Aristeides on the other hand was content with the army, which had won so great a victory.” (p. 177 in the text).
The next succeeding sentence in the recording starts with the heading “The Athenians abandon their country” (p. 181 in the text). Unfortunately, all of the intervening pages (pp. 177-181) are omitted--I suspect just an editing error. Hopefully you have an original file with the missing pages already recorded.

As for the tech stuff:
--The Bit rate should be 128 kbps and should be Constant (not Variable).
--The volume is too high at 93.5 dB, so please reduce by -4 dB.
--We need the Outro "End of Chapter Eleven" added to the recording.
--And then need only 5 seconds of silence at the end of the track.

I'll take another look at it when you get the link for the edited file posted here. Let me know if you have questions, and thank you! :)
Kind regards,
Lucretia

Hi, Wes--You have a very nice voice and a smooth, pleasant style. Just a few errors to tidy up--

Section 08:
--At ~4:23 Repeat “…whose spirit may—whose spirit may be either meditative or emotional.” (p. 126 of the text)
--At ~19:56 Sentence omitted “The new style of dress admitted of great elaboration.” (p. 132 of the text)
--At ~23:25 Repeat “For with many a garland of violets and sweet roses mingled—For with many a garland of violets and sweet roses mingled…” (p. 133 of the text)

That's it! Upload the edited file using the same file name, post the link here again along with the new track length--and then I'll take a final look at it. Let us know if you have any questions or need assistance. And thank you for your contribution! :)
Kind regards,

Hello everyone.
I will need some more time to finish my section.
I'm sorry, some issues took my recording time away. :(

I'll try to finish it within 2 more weeks.

Do. Or do not. There is no try.
