As I sometimes check these in the other forum I thought I would give you some feedback on your recording!
This is just great - your sound and pronunciation are excellent!
There is just one minor issue with the recording and that is there is a medium to high amount of noise in it. This is very easy to solve though! Just bring your recording up in the Audacity software. If you click on the magnifying glass with the + in it on the right side of the tool bar and expand you recording you will see that the horizontal line is fuzzy where you are not speaking.
To fix this, highlight the recording (Ctrl - A works) then go to Effect - Noise Reduction. Click on the button at the top of the window that pops up to Get Noise Profile. * Now leaving the recording highlighted, go back into Effect - Noise Reduction and with the following settings 6, 3.00, 6 and Reduce selected press OK. That is going to noise clean your recording. Now repeat from the * again - I ran your recording through the 2nd process twice. Now where you see the horizontal line on your recording it should be less "fuzzy". Now save your recording.
Here is a tool that a lot of us use called the Checker - it was made to test Librivox recordings to check if they are ready and meet the technical specifications. I check each of my recordings before uploading them https://cgjennings.ca/checker.html If you want you can run your saved recording through the Checker utility - it should Pass as it did when I did the above on your recording...
Now upload the recording like you did previously and post the link as a response to this post and either myself or JayKitty76 will check it out for you!
Thanks so much for sending in your test recording - you are almost there!

I would like to claim section 33 of this text. As a side note, this will be my first LibriVox recording but I am looking forward to it. My one minute recording was just approved today.
BTW, per your request, you can refer to me as "DaveB" in the LibriVox catalog.
Best regards,
Dave

Usually the BC can download the file as an Audacity file and edit it, so it should be easy for me, but I never figured it out....
Hmm. Does Phil have a video on how to do it? I'll check. If not, no worries- I'll figure it out
