I'm new here and this seems like a good first read for me. Looking to claim any or all of 2. Of Fire, 3. Of Air, or 4. Of Water. Thanks.

I have been wondering how to pronounce the author's name. Michael Combrune's family emigrated to England from France, and the surname was shortened. I am inclined to think the emphasis is on the second syllable. Kindly set me straight if that is not correct!
Hi pete, i think id go with something like come-broon. Since we will not know how mr combrune pronounced it himself, i will leave readers room in this :) emphasis on the second syllable sounds about right to me though  thank you!

No beer was drunk before or during the recording. Afterwards, however...

Thanks, I am about to adjust the volume and test it out again. Are all 3 sections alright for me to start out with?

Carolin,
I have some extra time today so I thought I would do a little PLing here. To double check, you did not want the preface and letter to Dr Shaw read, correct?

Betty,
Section 1
2:18 - Acids are all those things which taste sour, as vinegar, juice of lemons, spirit of nitre, spirit of salt, the oil and spirit of vitriol, &c. and are put in a violent agitation, by being mixed with certain earths, or the ashes of vegetables.
Second syllable of nitre sounds as if it was cut off during editing.

Foon,
Section 5 is PL OK

Section 6
4:46 repeat – Do not the oils of malt, from the heat they have undergone, resemble these?

Pete,
Welcome to LV!

Great reading for section 11. PL OK.

I'm finished with LV for tonight but, if a DPL doesn't claim the project, I'll listen to your other section tomorrow.
