This project is very much alive. I am looking forward to reading more of it when I finish a current demanding project. Any fellow Queenslanders lurking on the forum would find in Petrie's reminiscences a fascinating record of aboriginal life and customs in the earliest days of European settlement.

Best,

Barbara

I think everyone needs to understand how contact between different cultures has and still does work out, not just Australians.
There are few countries that can say they managed it well. And maybe it only seems that way because what happened is lost in prehistory. And this applies to nearly all races, not just "Europeans"
And maybe the Martians will either be "inferior" or think we are.
Off my soapbox now, we just need some more readers :D

Excellent points, Anne. I intend to record my next section in a couple of days. It's an easy read as long as you can pronounce the local place names (I'm always ready to help!).
