25 PL OK. I don't understand most of it, but that's my own ignorance, or Gladstone's writing style, or both. ;)

I know! when I pre-read it, it was a mystery to me. Then I recorded it, and some of it made sense but most of it did not. Finally, as I edited it, I got a grasp of it - although some of the references are still unclear to me (I looked some of them up). Complexity and erudition from a politician...not what I am used to!

Here's section 26 (19:41):

And if we both thought section 25 was hard to understand, wait until you hear THIS! :?

PL OK!

I guess one has to know a lot of English politics and history to understand his references. :)

I've put you in.

How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname or forum name, some their real name) and a link to a personal web site or blog, if you have one. I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) when you say, "recorded by [your name]" as that's how listeners will look for you. (Keep in mind that prospective employers, classmates, enemies, etc. can also find you using the catalog name, so be cautious if privacy might be an issue.)

Thanks - I'm happy to use my real name "Steve Lamont"; I doubt that I'll ever be ashamed of anything I do on here!

Thanks! I've got a boat load of files to listen to since coming back from our Thanksgiving vacation, so I'll get to this when I can.

Section 4:

Volume low; please amplify by 3.5-4 dB. (You may need to use Compression effect to be able to do this - threshold -17dB, ratio 3:1 will work.)

About 4 seconds of silence at start; please cut this down to 0.5-1 second.

21:47 - "End of part 1" please say instead, "End of section 4."

The reading itself was very good - thanks!

Hello TriciaG - I was hoping to have a go at reading the Preface (my first attempt at reading!). James

That'd be great - the preface is yours. 8-)
