Well, it looks as if I forgot to upload my first section, so hear it is with the rest of them. Sorry to dump them all at once, but this quiet Sunday afternoon seemed a good time to hear them again. I'll take a look at the other open sections and may claim a few more.

Hello, I would like to do Section 14, The Soul-Winner and the Children, of this book. I am a newbie and just recently Ok'd. I will just stay with the name Mueleski for my reading name but also answer to John! If I finish before someone else claims it, I would be interested in doing 15 also, since they pretty much go together. Let me know if I can start, and any advice, would be welcome.

Welcome to LV and this project! I'll put you down for Chapters 14 and 15 - I agree they go together! All the instructions you need should be in the first post, but post a message here if you get stuck and I'll try to answer!

I'm back and starting to download and proof listen. Had a wonderful encounter with a Salvation Army band and a lovely woman collecting contributions as they performed across the street from the restaurant in which I was waiting for a late lunch (about three o'clock) to be served in Alnmouth, Northumberland. She knew exactly who our author was and I wrote down the Librivox url for her and the two titles we've done already. The Lord let my lately unreliable voice perform nicely with the band on hymns I knew, and I continued singing "Light of the World (you came down into darkness)" with them at my table after the waitress came out to tell me my food was served and getting cold, and the SA woman insisted I go in and eat. On her way out a lady that I was afraid had been annoyed by that performance surprised me with thanks and the information that she loves that hymn (or praise song?).

PL Notes sections 1, 2 and 3
Section 1 is PL OK
Sections 2 and 3
Larry, there are several points where you've forgotten to cut out the mistaken or fumbled start and the note "again" to yourself where you've started a phrase over. They just need for the mistaken or shaky start and the word "again" to be snipped out in each case. I've given the approximate time mark of the beginning of each false start.
I can't resist telling you what a comfort it is to know someone else who sounds so professional makes errors like my own that have to be edited.
4:27 "Or if it does return"
4:36 "This obedience"
6:48 "And let him know"
7:07 "Again and again"
8:52 "By a steadfast looking"
Section 3
6:47 "By which Jesus means that we are to be bold". There are two restarts here.

Section 5 PL Notes
Just a snip needed for the repetition of "At whose feet the ensign and his wife sat for spiritual counsel." The first reading of it starts at 1:28.

What a great experience with the band!
I wouldn't dare to sing, but maybe I could pucker up an blow the trumpet.
Well, I'm embarrassed. I'm afraid this what happens when I edit when so tired that I nod off and lose my place.
Truth is, I think, that even the most polished readers have a lot of editing to do -- at least that is what I've heard from people who are a lot better than I. In addition, I have to do a lot of retakes due to the traffic noises at our location.
Today I am in Dillon, Colorado with members of my old Yale PA class from forty years ago.
Anyway, I think I have these fixed.
