37 and 38 are PL OK. You do those southern accents well, Mr. Bill, especially for a Yankee! Stowe talks a lot about the Edmondson family in her Life and Letters and the part her minister brother Henry Ward Beecher played in raising the money to purchase their freedom, but this chapter gives even more detailed information. Thank you for taking on these long sections.
Au Contraire! Thank you for committing to doing all the BC and PL work for this project.

The central event in this 2-part chapter is the celebrations in Washington D.C. when the news of the French Revolution became known. The populace entered into a "Mob Cognitive Dissonance". They heard and applauded the assertion of eternal brotherhood and equality of all men, but when it came to their attention that their slaves had listened to the politicians' speeches, believed them and took that as a clue that they could escape, they were incensed and incredulous.

Thank you for all of your help; I know this should be much more easy than I'm making it.

No problem. There are hundreds of thousands of words for us to stumble over day by day. It's a miracle of effort to stick together and get the most of them right. Proud of you girl.

My fingers are crossed that they still believe they were included in the founding fathers' vision of humanity, and Stowe's.

PL Notes Section 20

8:20 repeat "now suppose"
9:15 legislative alter, I hear act. Not sure anyone would notice this so your choice to correct.

All else beautifully crisp and clear!
Thank you! Here is section 20 again, new length 18:13. (I fixed both places)

Well! First, Michele, in checking your noise volume I said "WOW!" Less than 25 dBs! Very impressive, as is the fact that I've only one note on this long reading:

1:03
Text: Or in spite of law
Said: Or in the spirit of law

Again, a wonderful reading. I actually found myself leaned forward at the computer, enthralled as watching a drama, eating my jelly doughnut, "what's going to happen to the 'boy' who hacked up his wife and their master?!"
That was due not only to the content, but your rapid, as appropriate, pacing.

Hmmm ... yes, the recommendation from Thomas Jefferson was of great interest, as was the sense of wonder if Mr. Lincoln himself was the first "REPUBLICAN" mentioned.

As always, it was a true pleasure to listen to you!

One correction to 14, not time change. Thanks for those kudos. :D

Spot PL of Section 40, Kidnapping

Intro and Outro says Part 4. Should say Part 3.

Hi, Michele!
Will be awhile before I can correct, but have noted the need, and shall have it to you ASAP.
