I uploaded section 1 and hope someone can lend their ears for a proof listen.

Carolin, I included the brief editor's introduction before the story but if you don't want it, I can easily snip it out and re-upload.

Hello, Carolin! Could I please do tales 2 and 3 to start with? I might be able to do more, depending on how quickly I get these done. This will be my first time recording, so I'm really excited!
Hi and welcome to librivox!

You are welcome to read those sections. To be able to sign you up, i need to know under which name or pseudonym you would like to appear in the catalog. We can also link to your personal website or blog. Please note that i do not reserve sections for you as long as i cannot create your catalog page.

Please also complete the one minute test before getting started!

I'm also new to the world of audiobook recording, but I'm eager and ready to go.
I'd like to take Tale VII Tale VII - The Adventures of Launcelot, if possible
Hi and welcome to librivox!

The same as what i wrote above also applies here. Please let me know under which name or pseudonym you would like to appear in the catalog. We can also link to your personal website or blog. I need this info to be able to sign you up and to make your name appear in the magic window.

Please also complete the one minute test before getting started! :)

Hey, this sounds nice--great voice and good sound, but there are just a couple of tech issues to address to make it librivox ready.

First, the mp3 format needs to be at a constant bitrate (not variable) of 128kbs.
Second, the target, average volume is 89db, plus or minus two db, and this recording falls below at 80.4db.

Fix these two things and I think you'd be set. You didn't say what system and program your using to record but most use Audacity since it is free, easy and works great (triple threat) and there is a lot of help here for that. Here is a wiki page on recording for librivox that might help:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Newbie_Guide_to_Recording

Also, there is a checker program that is very useful in determining of the file passes the tech requirements:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker

Hope this helps and I very much look forward to your recording!

edit: next step would be to re-upload the file with the fixes and wait for Carolin to pass it. You might find it faster to pass the one-minute test by posting it in the usual place: the listeners wanted forum

Hi Caroline,

Seeing as how bwarcher hasn't posted again, could I claim section 3, "Tale III - How Arthur Won His Sword 'Excalibur', His Bride and His Round Table"?

No worries if you'd rather reserve it for now. Thanks!
