Deeds of Daring done by Girls by Hannah Moore (1857 - 1927).

This project is now complete! All audio files can now be found on the catalog page for this project https://librivox.org/deeds-of-daring-done-by-girls-by-hannah-hudson-moore/
Do not think, dear girls, that because you are girls you may not have as much courage as your brothers. I believe that quite as stout hearts beat beneath muslin frocks as under stuff jackets. When you have finished reading this book about your sisters, perhaps – if you do not already – you will agree with me, and think that it needs only occasion to call out the necessary courage. I have been asked which one of these heroines I think the most daring, but – oh dear – it would never do to have a favourite, would it? So I leave them to you, and that you will enjoy learning of their trials and triumphs is the wish of your friend, the author. ( preface)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/deedsofdaringdon00moor
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi! If you are open to a first-time reader, I'll take sections 3&4 :D

Side note - I am happy to switch to 5-7 if you need someone to read French.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to librivox!

You are welcome to participate in this project. To be able to sign you up, i need to know under which name or pseudonym you would like to appear in the catalog. We can also link to your personal website or blog.

You are absolutely free to choose your own sections, whichever you like. So make sure you put in a definite claim (3+4 or 5-7) when you post about your catalog name.

I see you have already posted a tedt recording  tovarisch has given you feedback. There are some small things to look at. Let us know if you have any questions :)

Thank you!

Thanks Carolin - I will take 3&4 :D

I'm about to post a re-test, just to make sure I've implemented the feedback correctly, and that I've got the hang of my new headset and mike position. Once I get the a-ok on that, I will record these sections.

I'll just use the pseudonym leeswim, works for me, and I have no personal website or blog.

Thanks!

Section 2, 19:44, https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/deedsofdaring_02_moore_128kb.mp3

Also, Carolin, would you edit the MW and change the titles of sections 01 and 02 to "The Robe of the Duchess"?
