I am going to have to give up my claimed sections. Too much Real Life for a couple months.

Sorry, Todd

May I please claim Chapter 15? This is my first official LibriVox reading. I guess I want to use my name as JuliaRossen.

I have a pronunciation question. I normally would pronounce Eunice as "YOU-nis," but in Chapter 17, when Miss Jillgall asks if you pronounce it "Euneece," Helena says no, and her father says, "Pronounce it as you like, Selina. Here we say Euni’ce—with the accent on the ‘i’ and with the final ‘e’ sounded: Eu-ni’-see." Should I consistently pronounce as father says?

This is my first time reading for Librivox, and I would appreciate feedback from you experienced readers if I should pronounce “Eunice” as “YOU-nis” (as I normally would) or as father says they do in chapter 17 as “Eu-ni’-see”? I would like to start reading my chapter, but would like advice on this question before beginning.

Hi julia, apologies for not being able to get back to you right away. I could not be online for a few days and am just catching up. Feel free to stick to you.niss. i think most readers will have pronounced it that way so it is nicer to get the pronunciation among readers consistently. Thank you
