I've just recorded section 52 ("Drinks"). I'll be editing it over the weekend.
Also, in the introductory post you wrote:
Note: some recipes are marked with a star to show that they are extra simple. No need to mention the star in your recording, just leave it out. Thank you!
In this chapter the author makes a direct reference to the recipes marked in this way. What to do about that? :hmm:

I'd like to volunteer to read the section 'Poultry' for this book. Should be very interesting ...

Hi piotrek, thanks for asking. You can just read it as it is. This happens sometimes also with figures or illustrations in non fiction books, nothing we can do about it. Listeners might look the recipes up if they like :)

Thanks. That's what I figured out too. You may add a note in the book description so that people know there's something visual to look for.

Drinks (section 52). Duration 18:26

https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/commonsense_52_harland.mp3

I mispronounced the word "pint" throughout the section and then had to hunt down all the places where it appeared to replace it. There were quite a few, given that it is a section about liquids.

Hello,
I've uploaded section 12: Pork. I actually finished it a couple of weeks back and just realized I had forgotten to upload it--I guess that's why I hadn't heard anything from the PL! It's my first chapter, so please do let me know if I've made a mess of things and need to read it again. I'll be working on my next section soon, so I don't want to repeat the mistakes. :)

Greetings -

Section 36 is PL OK.

It is official. My teeth are now hurting just from reading about the amount of sugar used in some of those recipes. Many had a ratio of three to four of sugar to flour. And, then, one of the recipes called for a half a cup of nutmeg! Zounds!

I had to chuckle at this quote, "If the cake be uneatable, throw it away upon the first beggar-boy who comes for broken meat, and say nothing about it." Definitely not from this current era.

Hi there!

I'd love to read section 6 on 'fish' :)

I've been told that when I select my first section to record I need to let you know what name I'd like to have show in the catalog: that'd be "Lea Höfliger"

Thanks! I'm excited to get started! :D
