Time 12:44 Text has "This will require longer and steadier baking than... Reading has "beating" instead of "baking".

I have one more dessert section to read - let's hope we both make it through without a hyperglycemia attack. :)

I would like to claim 26, 27, and 28. (I actually know this cookbook! I own it and have used it.)

I am new to librivox. My name is TracyB

I have completed the recordings of these three sections. Presently rendering them to share during the week. I am sorry about jumping the gun before I heard back, but I was on vacation this week and wanted to be productive. 😁

Here is the link for section 14--Company--ready for PL. It is 12:16 in length and I hope it is okay.
Thanks very much, Lora

Greetings -

Section 14 is PL OK.

Nicely read.

Would someone explain to me why the book has the section on "company" between "pork" and "venison"?

I can't help but wonder about the "political correctness" of a statement like, "This is not hospitality without grudging, but
a vulgar system of barter and gluttony more worthy of Abyssinians than Christian gentlefolk."

Greetings -

Section 42 is PL OK.

Interesting juxtaposition in my PLing today. Earlier today in another project, I was listening to an offering on the crucifixion of Christ. Now an offering on apple fritters. There has to be a message there, but it escapes me.

Thanks, BettyB. Your reading on fritters has just boosted my blood sugars noticeably. :-)

Greetings -

Section 43 is PL OK.

I hope those folk who try these recipes truly like cinnamon and nutmeg. A good number of the recipes asks for a full teaspoonful of one or the other.

I like this instruction, "Set upon the ice or upon the cellar-floor until firm." The cellar-floor? :-)

To lomond: I was wondering about the quote included near the end of the Company section as well as the sentence you noted. Definite attitudes in that time period! Thanks. Lora
