Catharine de Bora or Social and Domestic Scenes in the Life of Luther by John G. Morris (1803 - 1895).

"There are many interesting and characteristic incidents in the domestic life of Luther which are not found in biographies of the great Reformer. The character of his wife has not been portrayed in full, and who does not wish to become better acquainted with a woman who mingled many a drop of balsam in those numerous cups of sorrow which her celebrated husband was compelled to drink?

This little book is the result of extensive research, and exhibits facts attested by the most reliable authorities, many of which will be new to those of my readers who have not investigated this particular subject." from the Preface by John G. Morris, a noted Lutheran scholar from Baltimore, Maryland.

These chapters start with a discussion of celibacy and marriage in the church, describe Lutheran's marriage to and life with Catharine de Bora, and her life after the reformers death, and accounts of their children.

    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Now that we have the selections from Luther's "Table Talks" recorded, I thought this little volume about his wife would be a good addition to the library.

The chapters are longer, but I thought it best to keep them intact, although I did have to divide the longest chapter to make it manageable for both reader and listener.

Looks good. I'd be interested in recording or in being DPL.

I've chosen to keep the longer title for this project to help identify it with Martin Luther

Only two chapters seem to have substantive footnotes, and I've indicated those in the MW. Just introduce them with "Footnote" and close with "End Footnote."

We have a volunteer for DPL and are ready for more readers.

May I have section 2? It may take me a while to record it, as my recording computer is on the fritz. But it shouldn't take me the standard 2 months, anyway. :)

P.S. Your section 9 title has a lower case I in it. ;)
