[COMPLETE] H.L. Mencken--The American Language--philc
Thanks so much Barbara! (I hope it was easier to listen to than it was to read.)
(It looks like we may have some orphans coming up--we'll know after tomorrow. If you would be interested in reading any of them--and I should have made this offer earlier-forgive me-I'd be happy to PL for you. If not, I greatly appreciate the work you are doing.)

Back after 8/15. In the hands of the medicos.
Despite not sounding a bit American I was tempted by your kind offer. Then I remembered that the book is still under Copyright for Australians.DrPGould wrote:

It's been such a popular project, I think you're going to have no trouble getting any orphans adopted.
Best,

I can help with orphans (if that means sections assigned but not yet read...?). Just let me know if such is needed and which ones you'd like done.

Section 31 is in the MW and ready for PL. (Running time is 36:47).
Many thanks,
Philip
A couple of repeats to be deleted:
11:41 repeat of "in vulgar American"
18:42 repeat of "There is an analogous form of which, to wit, whichn"
Much food for thought in that section.
Best,
Barbara

Word perfect Linda. The coinages towards the end of the section reminded me of Bertie Wooster's preferred poisons so I googled. Here are some:wildlindajohnson wrote:Here's Section 15:

The Broken Compass, the Sewing Machine, the Comet, the Atomic, the Cement Mixer and the Gremlin Boogie.
