Section 18 is in the MW and ready for PL. (You might want to put the "Anvil Chorus" or "Song of the Volga Boatmen" in your stereo to lend the proper ambiance--it's quite the long list. )

Many thanks,

Philip

Heh heh. You almost lulled me to sleep Philip but I was startled into life by a handful of words in which the English pronunciation is unexpected. Being bi-lingual in English, I've marked the Section PL Notes in case you'd like to re-pronounce them:

1:40 Hoarding
3:18 draughts is pronounced drafts
3:29 clerk is pronounced clark
6:17 leads is pronounced like the element lead

Best,

Barbara

Interesting how many of those words have passed out of common usage.

Barbara--

Section 18 has been corrected and re-uploaded. (Hoarding showed as Boarding in my pdf--so I went to the original--not that I doubted you. BTW--I did reduce the 'r' in clerk.)

Just a head's up...except for the Preface--every section I am reading has one of these lengthy atrocious tables in it. If, when you hear it, you think there is a better way to read it--I'm open to re-recording the section....just so you know.

Thanks for a terrific PL!!!

Seamless, Philip. And thanks for working out that '6:17 ' was actually '16:17'. PL OK.

I don't mind lists when they're read sensibly like that. I find them soothing...zzzzz....

Best,

Barbara

Tom:

Welcome to the project and a big welcome to Librivox! Great to have you here. I have temporarily assigned you section 2...but before you start to read you need to do the following things:

1. Post a 1 minute test so that we can be sure your recording set up meets the required technical specs (how to do that is here :One minute test You may also wish to view the Newbie Guide to recording. Our project MC Phil Chenevert has also posted some very useful videos on this subject How to make your 1 minute test and How to upload your 1 minute test. You may also want to check out Phil's video Getting to Know Our Forums.

2. After you have posted your 1 minute test (very important step here)--post a link to it here in this thread as well as in Listeners and Editors Wanted. (We will see it more quickly here.)

3. Let me know what name you wish to use for your catalog name...I have input your user name for the time being, but if you wish to change that, just let me know.

Once again, Welcome! Glad you are here.

Many thanks,

Philip
