Okay. 8-) Any big "aha" moments yet? Somehow I doubt it.

Sure thing!

How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname or forum name, some their real name) and a link to a personal web site or blog, if you have one. I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) when you say, "recorded by [your name]" as that's how listeners will look for you. (Keep in mind that prospective employers, classmates, enemies, etc. can also find you using the catalog name, so be cautious if privacy might be an issue.)

By the way, I just wanted to explain that just because there were two chapters under the same section, I put both chapters in the same file side by side. Thanks!

Yes, both in the same file, thank you. I'll be able to listen this afternoon.

Is the run time for the entire file 5:39, then?

Thanks! Good, for a first effort without a 1-minute test. :)

Recording content: most of this is because it's 2 chapters in one file. We don't need the disclaimer, etc. in the middle of an audio file. :)

0:01 - please say, "Chapters 45 and 46"

From about 1:20 on there's a strange, occasional ticking sound. Are you using a headset mic? It could be pieces of the mic moving when you speak, creating that clicking sound. See more on this at the very bottom of this post.

3:01-3:07 - please remove "end of chapter 45, recording by ..."

3:07-3:25 - Please remove "Chapter 46 of It is Never..." and LV disclaimer. Keep "chapter 46" at 3:26

5:35 - "End of chapter 46" has a weird sound in it. And please say instead, "End of chapters 45 and 46".

Needs 5 seconds of silence at the very end, after all speech.

Tech items:

Volume is too high. Please de-amplify by 8 dB. (Effects/Amplify and put in -8)

Bit rate is variable; it needs to be 128 constant. This is set when you export to MP3. When you go to export, on the screen where you enter the file name for the MP3, change the Bit Rate mode to Constant, and the quality should be 128 kbps. You should only have to set it once; it'll remember the setting until you change it again.

* Regarding the clicks: they are distracting, so it would be nice to remove or reduce them. The easiest way is to install and use a special plug-in called "De-clicker".
- Click THIS LINK and save the file to your computer - your desktop or somewhere.
- Then go to the folder in which Audacity is installed (on my computer, it's in C:\Program Files (x86)\Audacity) and open the Plug-Ins folder.
- Drag the file you saved into the Plug-Ins folder.
- Start up Audacity and go to Analyze/Manage.
- Find DeClicker in the list and enable it.

To use it, it seems to be better to use it over a smaller area than a whole file. (A whole file can take a long time, and it might un-click things that you WANT to click, like T and K sounds.) So open the file in Audacity, play it, and listen for click sounds. When you hear one, stop the playback, highlight the part ofthe waveform that has the click, and go to Effects/DeClicker. Click OK on the settings (just use the default). That's it! It should reduce the click. Do that throughout the file.

Make these changes and export the file using the same file name. Upload, and post in this thread with the new run time when it's uploaded. :)

Thank you so much for those tips! I did my best to correct it by recording it again. Here is the file!
