(Hi, Kevin! We're over in Durham Region.)
Thanks! Section 2 is already taken. Did you want 3 and 4? :) Signing you up for 3 for now

Nice. Thanks for the link!

I actually finished a first recording of the chapter a couple weeks ago. I need to go back and polish all the parts with numbers (e.g. $23,456,342,100). I was so tempted to just say "gazillion dollars" every single time. I have a couple work deadlines for next week so my plan is to submit the file for review sometime after next weekend.

I'm getting comfortable with Audacity. One thing I want to know is how best to manage the recordings. I usually record 4 to 6 sentences for each track. I then mute all previous tracks, home the cursor to t=0, and start a new track. At the end, I copy and paste one by one to a combined track. Please let me know if there is a better way to do this.

BTW, the sentences are super long. I have had to redo quite a few of them to put the pauses in the appropriate places.
I usually do the section in one take, if I can. Even if it's too long to do in one sitting, I just start where I left off on the first track. You can add a second track if you need to make corrections and just cut and paste the corrections into the first track and then delete the errors from the first track. I found a lot of helpful videos on YOU TUBE with the search terms Audacity and Librivox. Hope this helps.

Section 3:

https://librivox.org/uploads/kathrinee/usmoney_03_crozier_128kb.mp3
45:25

I didn't end where the MW says to end the section. The format of this chapter is that it states one or more portions of the proposed act, then the author comments on them. So I read down to the end of the comments for "Sec. 39", which comments end on page 54, "and help force the bill through Congress."

If you prefer to have the section end where it says in the MW, I can make the edit.

And I'll take section 4 to finish off this portion of the text.

Thank you, Tricia, MW updated. Sounds like it made good sense to read to where you stopped, let's keep it like that :)

Section #3 PL OK!

Nicely done. I'm a bonehead about finances, but I could follow your reading just fine. Thanks.

I disagree. I think it is every bit as good as section #3. Good read!

Here is Section 7:

https://librivox.org/uploads/kathrinee/usmoney_07_crozier_128kb.mp3
Duration: 41:08

Thanks for the advice on the workflow. It worked a lot better than how I was doing it before.

The waveforms in the recording shrunk noticeably after I applied noise reduction. Let me know if I should re-amplify it, or use different noise reduction settings.

Thanks. It is a little quiet. I used the checker program and it came out as 83.2 and the minimum volume should be 86 and the max 92. So if you could amplify it a couple of points it should be good to go. The noise reduction was good, just the volume needs upped.

So re amplify and then resubmit it and I can give it a PL OK.

Thanks again,
