I would love to record the rest of this book for you..I am an experienced narrator and go talent, but am new to Librivox.
I also lived in France for a year.

I notice that the links given on this site only have half of the total copy: am I missing something?

Hope you’ll approve me! Thank you!

Hi Marty,

If you want to record the rest, you can. But you will need to do a 1-Minute Test first.

Do you have a preferred name or pseudonym by which you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue? Marty Peterson? Martyp?

Oh, and there are two links for the text. The second half of the book is here: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/27537

Thanks

Hi Marty,

As I and miss stav have already said, we can't assign you any sections until you complete a 1-minute test: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test. Also, the sections only go up to 23 (at the moment at least, some of them will probably need to be split up).

Technically Martyp has beat you to it, but I'm waiting on the results of the 1-minute test.

Hi, just to update you on this - I currently have 72 mins audio for my chapter but I think after some editing and re-recording I'm planning this weekend, it will likely end up being longer and needing to be split into two. Since there are now readers wanting to do more chapters, it might be worth changing this on the chapter list now, so that numbering is correct for anyone who starts recording later parts of the book. Thank you :)

So my 1 Minute test needed only volume adjustment (easy), but needs to be mono not stereo. Garageband does not export to mono ... so I am switching platforms to Audacity which will export mono.
This may take a week ... but I am very much "on it". Feedback about how my test sounded was good!

Just one note:

12:12: "she whom a writer of vaudevilles called the Louis XVI. of her profession" should be "she whom a writer of vaudevilles called the Louis XI. [eleventh] of her profession"

Hi Mayah,

It looks like we've lost MartyP, but RitaBoutros did claim this before you. I've just asked if she wants to take it, and I'll let you have it if not/if I don't hear from her soon.
