Betty and Larry,

PL Notes Palmetto Leaves

10 (Betty)
4:39 Seventeen times, I'm sort of hearing seventy (kinda old for a young lover's sweetheart), no big deal if you don't want to change it. Otherwise PL OK

11 (Larry)
:03, Palmetto Leave (singular), I don't hear an s
11:43 we wish somebody who is wise enough would write one, I hear "to write one".

I am shocked that sweet, loveable Harriet admitted to shooting her pet cat and drowning the kittens! But it's a reminder what my Mom used to do when feral cats gave birth to kittens in our garage. Else they'd have taken over the neighborhood. Back in the 50's, you couldn't call Animal Control, and small towns like ours didn't have the funds for spay/neuter/release. Neither did many families have spare funds to take their pets to the vet for every little thing. We've come a long way since then.

12 (Betty)
8:39 loud clap, Otherwise PL OK

13 (Betty)
PL OK

Nice readings both of you, kind of nostalgic, just as I suspected the book would be. :)

I've listened to the beginning several more times and the "s" on "leaves" is clear to my ear, so I'm leaving it as is. i've made the other minor correction. File length unchanged.

Uploaded for spot check.

Have left Chapter 10 as read. Had someone else listen and they heard "seventeen" not "seventy."

I have uploaded Chapter 2 "A Flowery January in Florida"

the link is
https://librivox.org/uploads/kathrinee/palmettoleaves_02_hbstowe_128kb.mp3

It is exactly 10:00 (never had such an even number before)

Do you need to know How I am referenced? I go by Kevin Callon Boyle (hence the kaysee)

Let me know if there are any changes needed.

Thanks

PL Notes Section 2

6:14 the pluck of the orange trees, I hear "plucking", a totally different meaning. Perhaps the "ing" could simply be deleted.
8:05 repeat "and speak of our Northern life as "last winter." There are cold nights, and, occasionally, white frosts:"

Interesting chapter about the orange trees and her troubles getting the school going. I recently recorded her autobiography and she didn't mention any trouble with it in that book.

Yes, Kevin, I will put you in for Section 3. Thanks
