The Stories Polly Pepper Told to the Five Little Peppers in the Little Brown House by Margaret Sidney (1844 - 1924).

This project is now complete! All audio files can now be found on the catalog page for this project: https://librivox.org/the-stories-polly-pepper-told-to-the-five-little-peppers-in-the-little-brown-house-by-margaret-sidney/

Polly Pepper loves to tell stories, but there just isn't enough room in the other books to include them among all the other happenings! So here it is at last - another book about the delightful Pepper family, this time dedicated to Polly and her stories. Curl up at Polly's feet with Ben and Joel and Davie and Phronsie and all the rest, in front of the warm fire, and enjoy these entertaining tales! (better summary to follow :))
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/49471
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Awesome, thank you Kathrine :) I will fill in the MW tomorrow.

Could you delete section 0, please? I think I'll include the prefatory note with Chapter 1, since it's only a few sentences long. :)

Thanks!
Rachel

Hi everyone,
We've had a problem with our servers and have lost everything since September 15 (see viewtopic.php?f=1&t=62490 for more information.) Since this project was started only a few days before that, we lost all the claims. I've put the ones I remember back in, but I know there were more - if you claimed a section in this project please post and let me know which one(s)! Thanks, and sorry for all the confusion.

Kathleen, I will need you to re-upload your sections. They were all PL OK.

Hi - I'd like to record section 14, The Runaway Pumpkin, if it wasn't already claimed pre-server disaster.

I'm a first time reader at LibriVox, and my name in the catalogue is fine as Elizabeth Harcus.

Thanks!

Hi Elizabeth,
Welcome to Librivox :D I'd love to have you on this project, but would you mind waiting a couple of days until I can confirm that this chapter wasn't already claimed? I know there was one more reader who had claimed a few sections, but I don't remember which ones they were except that I think they were around that area. I've PM'ed her and would like to give her a couple more days to respond before completely opening this up for claiming. If you want to wait, that's fine, or if you would like to try one of the later ones (I'm sure from 19-down were never claimed, though I'm not sure about the earlier ones) that would be great too :)

Thanks for understanding, and sorry for all the mixups!

P. S. I forgot, you'll need to do your 1-minute-test before you record anything. This isn't an audition, just a quick sound check to make sure your tech specs and everything are all right. Unless you already did one before the server crash, in which case you're good to go!

Thank you!
Rachel

Hi, Rachel. Thanks for your message! For some reason I was not able to reply directly to the message. I don't remember which chapter I claimed. :-( The idea was just to do a chapter, no real preference. So maybe just assign me one that needs doing? TY!

I'd like to claim sections 19 and 20, please. Thanks!

I love to read, AND my employer matches my volunteer hours with a donation to the Internet Archive, flagged to benefit Librivox.org. How cool is that?
