Certainly! It's best if you claim before you record anything, just to avoid two people reading the same chapter. You can claim one or two at a time, or you can claim a block and work through it at your own pace, whatever works for you

Hi,
What I did with my two major footnotes(there were a lot of Bible verse ref's which I didn't include) was to read them where appropriate as if they were part of the narrative. I felt that if they were singled out as footnotes it would take away from the flow of the work. HTH
