Dear Katherine,

My apologies for not replying sooner. You have made a lovely recording, and there is nothing wrong with it except as Monika says, the volume is too low ~ and that can be easily fixed! (You didn't even have any repeats ~ that is great for a first attempt at editing!)

As for the french pronunciations, I do not know any (or very little!) french, however, I did notice that you pronounced the french words the same way that other readers have. That is good enough for me!

I really hope you decide to let us use your recording. You really did a very nice job, especially for a first recording! We are all our own worst critics and will second guess and cringe at hearing our own voice! And one always improves the more that they record.

Hoping that you will change your mind, but I will respect your wish not to use the recording if you so choose.

Let me know.
Maria

Katherine, please don't give up. We ALL started off sounding horrible to ourselves. But no one can start off perfect, it takes time and it's trial and error. Most of us are not using professional equipment, don't have a professional sound studio, and don't have directors and editors like the professional audiobook narrators have. You just have to accept the limitations of learning. And, well, since this IS St. Jane, take a little advice from her. I've found recording for LibriVox to be a wonderful experience and feel like I've made friends with some people who have made a big difference in my life, like Maria. And I've never yet made a recording I felt satisfied with.

This is still on my watch list, and I'd like to help this along so we can get it released to the public!
May I read Sections 16 and 18?
