Hi Maria,

It seems nobody wants to claim the prefaces? If so, may I record those?

Thank you, Maria. How would you prefer me to name the section in the recording? I was planning to say at the beginning, "Section 0 of Selected Letters . . ." and "End of Section 0" at the end. Or would it be better to say "Preface" instead of "Section 0"?
Eduardo

I would prefer "Preface". Thank you for checking!

sec 103 and 110

5m 55s

https://librivox.org/uploads/m8b1/selec ... hantal.mp3
2m 58s

would you please check the levels on 103 and let me know?
don't know what I did, but now when I amplify to what audacity is telling me to, or really 1.5-2 less even, I find spots with the red lines and it won't let me amplify any higher
thanks

I’d like to read letter #94. I am new, and want my reading name to be 1Kat (my real name is Katherine). I’ll be able to download the audacity software in no less than two weeks. If you’d like, I can send you my 1 minute test for feedback before reading the letter.

Hi Katherine,

Welcome to LibriVox! Letter 94 is all yours! Please read the first post of this thread carefully.

Please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. It can be your forum name, real name, or a pseudonym ~ whatever you prefer. We can also link to a personal web site/blog.

Yes, please do a 1 minute test before recording this section. That way if there are any issues, it can be fixed on a very short recording rather than a longer one! Please go to 1-Minute Test to find out what to record for your 1-minute test, and how to upload the recording. In the LibriVox Uploader, please select 'tests - tests' from the MC drop-down, and then post your test recording in the Listeners Wanted forum, rather than in this thread - you'll get feedback more quickly there.

Thanks, and have fun!
Maria

Hi Maria,
I successfully did the 1 minute test and have found the feedback useful. I did a version one on letter #94. I was able to find online pronunciations of the city names but not the sister's names, so I am hoping for feedback on that. I want to try to make a smoother sounding recording before it goes into the final product, and if you know how to pronounce the names, I am fix that at the same time.

Maria,
I'm sorry, but I don't think I have time to really create a recording as well it should be done. The one I submitted was for feedback only; please don't use it. I need someone else to record letter #94. Perhaps when I have finished school, I will explore this again. Thanks for understanding.

Hi Kathrine,

I incidentally looked here and noticed that you think your recording isn't fine, but in fact it meets the LibriVox-standards in way most specs; the really only thing it is missing is the volume and I could easily adjust it with only amplifying so that it went into the range. It would be a pity if you gave up. If you do not feel like you are able to edit your files at the moment, maybe you find someone in the Listener&Editors wanted section?
What is it what you are missing on your file?
