Also, for PL: I realize the policy is not to comment on pronunciation, but if you happen to know the pronunciations of these proper nouns, I would really be glad of correction!
I did some searching for each, but have never needed to pronounce them before.
Liege - lee-ayhz, not the same as feudal liege
Nimeguen - NYE-may-gen, found from another book at Librivox, since I don't see this spelling of the name in modern use.
Boufflers - BOOF-lers, which I feel silly saying.

I normally don't correct on pronunciation, just because English words can be pronounced differently in different parts of the world. The only exception might be place names, and that is very rare. I think your approach to these is fine!
