OK, Michele,

Without uttering a word you have convinced me to claim Chapter 8 if I might. Now that I am a couple of Chapters ahead in "My Life", maybe I will be able to get this done in a reasonable time, looonnng as it is.

Hello, Michele,

May I claim Section 5 The Intellectuals and the Boston Mob? I read a chapter in "A Boy's Life of Booker T. Washington". I'm sure I'll enjoy this too. Thank you.

Section 7 is PL OK.

Tatiena, this is the first time I've heard you read. Most excellent reading! Very distinct enunciation, enviably crisp audio, and no reportable errors. Thank you for your contribution.

READER ALERT: It is possible that the last 3 sections may open up again in the near future. If you are interested in reading more on this project, please keep an eye out for an opening. Meanwhile, I found this gem today - an actual recording of Booker T. Washington reciting a part of one of his famous speeches. It sounds to me like he has an Irish accent!

https://www.loc.gov/exhibits/civil-rights-act/multimedia/booker-t-washington.html

I recorded the whole speech for the Short Non-Fiction Collection today.

Section 8 is PL OK

That said, there is a tick, tick, tick in the background beginning around halfway thru the file, off and on. It could be your mouse wheel clicking as you are scrolling down the page. Not enough to change anything, but just enough to mention.

Do you use wizMouse. It's a free little utility which I find invaluable?
It lets you scroll through text or webpages that sit behind another open file, such Audacity. And, your mike won't pick up any clicking if your mouse is far enough away.
You could get it here: https://en.lo4d.com/windows/windows-shell
