~[MUSIC]J.S. Bach, Volume 2 by A. Schweitzer d1965-mtf
a la limite, as we say in French, I can record the footnote and you can patch it in?

I asked my librarian about the noise, and she said, "no one would come here
if they weren't allowed to talk out loud." So I read out loud.
Je lis à haute voix car refléchir fait trop de bruit!

Je lis à haute voix car refléchir fait trop de bruit!
and I'll do Chapter 30, Pt. 1 (section 63)

I have read through all 25 (now 26) pages of this project and have many questions. Also suggestions (grin) Most can wait, but this one needs an answer now:-
J. S. Bach, Volume Two, Volume 2
I am down for section 104, recording in CANADA. I know that Copyright is confusing, but to the best of this project’s knowledge, where do members resident in Canada stand?
This link https://www.amazon.com/J-S-Bach-Albert-Schweitzer/dp/0486216322 says “Paperback – Illustrated, June 1, 1967” and we might assume that the paperback publication date is after the hard back publication date
This link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries'_copyright_lengths says for CANADA “Life + 50 years” and “75 years from publication” which would put me in 2027/2042
Are Canadians in, or are they out on “J. S. Bach, Volume Two, Volume 2”?
For what it is worth, this newbie is ready to record; I have learned how to record one MP3 file per page for accented text and then merge the lot in Audacity.

The book was published in 1911. I have investigated - not only did the author live into his 90s, so did the translator!
I'm afraid that The Rule of the Shorter Term applies in Australia only for "Published Editions". Though I don't know what "published editions" means, it probably means that I'm excluded from recording this volume.
viewtopic.php?p=1383103#p1383103
...reached the conclusion that the rule of shorter term does apply in Australia ... Schweitzer is not PD in the EU I would think - it fact probably only the USA,
viewtopic.php?p=1383104#p1383104
Yeah... I'm in Europe...
I guess that means I should stop working on this.
viewtopic.php?p=1383114#p1383114
Yes I was wrong with Canada and NZ, ...
viewtopic.php?p=1383110#p1383110
Anne, why is Canada out? 1965+50=2016 and we're in 2017 ...
viewtopic.php?p=1424847#p1424847
The entire book, including the musical selections, are public domain in the US, but not in most other parts of the world.
viewtopic.php?p=1424855#p1424855
That's the problem. I live in Germany, so for me the book is under copyright,

Canada is Life+50, so this is PD in Canada.

Hello again Mozartjr

29.64 MB

Once this has passed PLOK, I would like to do another one or two sections, similar material.
You know better than I, but something like 103, 102, 98, 92, if I have understood the MW.
Thanks
Chris

So sorry that this project got away from me! As we talked about via PM I would like to reclaim a few of female singing sections.
To start, may I have:

Section 102 is a singing part, but if you can sing, that's fine the others are normal reading. Just let me know which ones you would like to do once Section 104 is PL OK!ChrisGreaves wrote: ↑January 16th, 2022, 10:08 amHello again Mozartjr

I meant to write 103, which is what I recorded yesterday. I have submitted 104, and recorded 103 and 98 "raw" for practice and will record 92 this afternoon, again, "raw" just for practice. I want to establish a satisfactory recording procedure, change chairs for one that doesn't squeak and so on.
I re-read the MW, and have a question:-
Many of the sections have music of some sort sprinkled through them.
I had thought that you had a bunch of people much cleverer than me, people who could read words and read and play music from scores.
I had gotten the idea that those people would be playing the piano (or the viola pomposa, p 431) and that someone was going to use Audacity to splice the music MP3 segments in amongst the text audio segments; hence the instruction to "leave three minutes silence".
My mind wanders off wondering how one would approach a [SOLO] if one did not play the piano.
Also whether there are openings for a mellifluous baritone who can memorize music, but cannot read a score.
Anyway, send me as many sections just like 104 as you think the rest of the members will allow. I would like to do a set of Germanic Footnotes to strengthen my recording-muscles.
Thank You
Chris
