And I learned a new word, 'abstemious' (a word perhaps not as heavily used these days...). As always, though, the right words are better, with perhaps sarcastic humor being her point with 'scrupulous'. Still 24:06

I like to have the footnotes in, but if an asterisk is in an awkward place in the sentence, feel free to wait until the end of a phrase or sentence to read the footnote, according to your best judgment. Thanks for checking!

Thank you for chapter 8! There are no edits to make to any readings, just a setting to adjust and then you should be all set: in Checker, I'm seeing that the bit rate is variable rather than constant and that the bit rate isn't 128 kbps. In Audacity, if you adjust your settings according to these tech specs, import chapter 8, and then export it again, it should save with the correct bit rate. I'm happy to help if you have any questions!

Did you recently re-install Audacity or download a new version? If so, that might be why your settings are different from usual.

I'm also seeing the bit rate message in Checker that I saw for chapter 8.

Thank you for chapter 20! Well done, as always. I have just a few notes:

- At 0:55, "but easy and agreeable," you say "but busy and agreeable" (p. 263)
- At 11:53, "as we passed the last postern," I hear "as we passed the last pastern" (p. 267)
- Could you change the filename number to reflect the section number?: countessofrudolstadt_22_sand_128kb.mp3 (I had been hoping to keep the chapter numbers consistent with the section numbers for this project, but there are some looong chapters in this book that I had to break up!)

You'll have fun catching up on her adventures previous to this!

Hi, I changed the number to 22 but I'm not sure why. Should I change my reading to show 22 and not Ch 20? I did the reading ( that Ch 19 is a doozy) and the danger is exciting to say the least.
