At 17:33, it's a relatively short one. It's mostly witnesses establishing the identity of AC Wilson aka WS Goss.

I can't remember if I've told you that I'm a retired criminal defense investigator. One thing I would always do with a complex case was create a timeline, ordering chronologically absolutely anything I found that mentioned a date, whether it seemed relevant or not. Not everything would be relevant, but as I would work my way through police reports, witness statements, and prosecution evidence, I would keep adding to the timeline. As it developed, it was kind of like the case materializing as a fog burns away.
It was driving me crazy as I PL'd that I didn't have this timeline to help me see the Goss-Udderzook case clearly.
Long story short...I haven't PL'd all of 33 because I felt compelled to stop and create a timeline! Which I will continue to add to, and will share with you when we're done! Currently, the earliest date is 1860, when Udderzook goes to live with Mr. Mullin while he is at "writing school." At this point, the timeline ends when the Udderzook trial begins, because of course it is going on and you are reading the testimony. Who knows what might happen after!!! So exciting.

That Shreveport place kept giving me problems Even though I'm not British for some reason I kept associating it with Shrewsbury (or at least something starting with "shrews") and, on a few ocassions, had to pause and re-record because I kept mashing both versions in my head.

HA! That's great! No, I don't think you told me that before. So all this is right up your alley - probably even the 4 or 5 people who were brought in just to identify Goss.vviera wrote: ↑January 15th, 2022, 8:18 pm Tricia -

Thanks! I'll PL later today. And since this is a 4-part saga, you may have "Shreveport" again and again.https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/stratagems_84_lewis_128kb.mp3 17:04

Section 84 PL OK.
You got "Shreveport" right all the times I heard it.
Hmm - since he's alive, apparently, you'd think the insurance companies would simply produce him in proof of their defense, but maybe he's unwilling to be produced since he wants nothing to do with his wife? I wonder how this can go on for 3 more sections.
