Good day Leni.
I was looking at my section and I was wandering one thing.
According to the MW sect 19 ends at pag 200, chapter 54, and then sect 20 starts at 55, that is not "War with the Sabines, Æqui, and Volscians".
That chapter is th 60th and starts at page 206. The 55th is "New Laws proposed by the Consul".

Should I read until page 206?

Thanks
Emanuela
Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Dear Emanuela,

Thanks for asking. The names in parentheses in the MW are not all the themes for each section, because it would be too many: in the case of section 19, for example, it would be 13 different titles, which would stretch the window (and take a long time to type by hand). So, the titles in parentheses are just to give the reader a general idea of what the main topics of that section are. In section 19, the most important events are the wars and the fall of the Decenvirs; in section 20, it is the continuation of the wars. So, please, read just up to 54. Thanks!

Length is 36m 52s.

Pronunciation of names is (I think) consistent within the file, but this is my first try at Roman literature, and I don't know if ithey are consistent with what others have done. Any corrections or suggestions will be implemented forthwith and posthaste.
Hi Tad,

Nicely read. No problems noted with the pronunciations :)

I do have a couple of technical things that I would like you to fix.

Firstly, please trim some of the opening silence: the standard is 0.5 to 1.0 seconds - I heard ~ 1.4 seconds. Secondly, when adding your name to the intro or outro you should pick only one and not both. You added it to both ends, so please remove one.

Lastly, we only put End of Section/Chapter for each recording and End of Book for the last section of the entire book. It might confuse listeners by including "End of Book 1" so please remove that as well.

Overall, nice job! I look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi. I'd like to claim:

22 Book IV, Chapters 1 to 7 p.222 to 231 (The Law of intermarriage)

It's my first time doing a chapter for Librivox. Is there a pronunciation guide for Roman names somewhere that I can access? Looking forward to it.

Hello, Daniel

Thanks for claiming - and sorry for the delay, I was caught in a work trip. But the section is assigned to you. As to the pronunciation, in the first post I left the information about the abbreviations, and you can use https://howjsay.com/. It will not have all names, but some at least. :)

No worries, Leni. Thanks for adding me. I guess what I was asking is if you wanted classical Latin, ecclesiastical Latin or the traditional English pronunciation. I listened to some other people, and they seemed to be using the traditional English pronunciation, so I'll run with that (it was also probably what Roberts thought Latin sounded like anyway).
