Hi, linny,
I'd like to claim Section 10 (now that I've read through Section 9 and figured out what the challenges will be).

Thanks Gary. I have updated the MW. These can prove a bit challenging. Let me know if you have any questions along the way. :)

Lovely! Thank you. Foreign affairs in 1849 were certainly fascinating (the US pledged itself to the perpetual independence of Hawai‘i and looked on, bemused, as Germany failed to unite!). I've recorded section 1, and though I still have to edit it, might I claim section 2 as well in the interests of continuity?

Section 05 is completed and uploaded to:

https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/stateoftheunion1849_1856_05_various_128kb.mp3

It is 47:51 in length. It remains to be seen whether the desire to complete the pair by doing part 2 could possibly override my common sense...

Hello Charles,
You did a wonderful job with the material. :D

Section 5 is PL ok with the exception of the volume. The file is currently at 92.5dB. We aim for 89dB with an allowable range of 86-92dB. Please lower the volume some.

If you do decided to taken section 6 do you think section 5 should end at 45:45? You put in a long pause there which was indeed a break in topic. It would be up to you.

No problem. I'll make a note to lower the volume. Is there a way to check that in Audacity for next time?

No, I'm sorry there isn't. However there is a simple program, Checker, developed especially for LV. Here's some information about it and where to download it from. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=36489

This is a video by one of our admins on how to 'guesstimate' in Audacity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9WF82rf81o but Checker is by far the better way.

Hmm, I thought I'd claimed section 2, but it's not in the MW...

Owen,
You only claimed section 1 but as I think it’s nice when an address is read by a single reader maybe Jack wouldn’t mind taking a different section.

Jack, what do you think? Would a different address be of interest?

FWIW, I meant this post:

Not a huge deal for me either way, however!
