I discovered LibriVox a while ago but never had the time to join in until now.
I'd love to read a few sections, but I could maybe start with a shorter one, like section 8 - Marie St Clare, if that's OK for you.

Do you need me to read a sample before?
I'll reserve 8 for you, but first, have you submitted a one minute test lately? All I can find is from 2014. You will find the information for the 1-Minute Test Recording here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test.

Yes I joined back in 2014 but didn't have time to read anything at the time, and only came back to LibriVox recently.
I'll definitely do the 1 minute test again this weekend.

PL Notes Section 2 Haley

17:30 The writer has drawn in this work, you say his work. Stowe routinely refers to herself as "the writer" in her non-fiction books, thus I know she is speaking of herself.

From about 17:45 to end, lots of banging around, and there is a loud pop at the end of the file.

Your file name cites 1.2, but should cite the Section number (02) When you upload your corrected file, please save it using the correct file name or it won't make it into our catalog! An' dat would be tragique! Hint: I always Copy and Paste the file name directly from the First Post of any project, and just change the ## to the section number. It is soooo easy to type in a mistake, and so easy to overlook it.

Section 32 is uploaded.
Philip, are you ready to PL this section? I must warn you, 32 and 33 are not my finest work. Sterling points are made but it was hard for me to get a rhythm going reciting newspaper ads! :?

Also, I am submitting this file, knowing that there are questionable citations at the end of some of the ads, such as "42 x4", "29x16", etc. I sought pronunciation help, but so far none has come. As I don't think these contribute to the point of the chapter, I've deleted all the incidents I could find from my original recording. I am content that I may have missed a few.

PL Notes Section 7
~ 16:00 you say "by love makes the property and possessions of the higher class the property and possessions of the lower. Delete the second "and possessions"

I boosted the Tempo +3 to listen, thus the approximate time quoted above. Only one error found. Bravo!

Fascinating chapter, arguments as relevant today as they were back then. For instance where Stowe quotes St. Paul about "breaking down the middle wall of partition between Jews and Christians", it's the same wall of prejudice thriving today between religions, nations, races, ethnicities, social classes.

Big difference between test 1 and test 2. 2 sounds clear, quiet, really good. Now if you need help with recording or editing techniques using Audacity, I'll be glad to help.
